Subject: How to Succeed at Play-to-Earn Games

Hi there!

In our last email, we talked about what a play-to-earn
game actually is and how they work.

In today’s email we’ll discuss how to succeed at
play-to-earn games.

“GameFi,” say Annika Feign and Ollie Leech of CoinDesk,
“is one of the hottest new trends to emerge from the
crypto industry, combining decentralized finance (DeFi)
and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with blockchain-based online
games.”

Instead of the “pay to win” model most online games use,
which requires you to buy upgrades and virtual items to
improve your gaming experience, GameFi uses the play-to-earn
model.

This means giving you, the player, financial incentives to
play and progress through the game.

In some countries, players even make a full-time income by
playing games all day.

In order to start succeeding, you’re going to need to do
three things: create a cryptocurrency wallet, purchase starter items,
and pre-fund your wallet.

To begin with, you’ll need somewhere to store your virtual
currency and NFTS, and to pay in-game transaction fees.

Which wallet you pick depends on what blockchain your game
was built on.

For example, MetaMask wallets work with any game built on
Ethereal.

Next, you’ll have to buy some starter items. The games are free
to download, but most require you to pay for characters, decks
of cards, upgrades, or native cryptocurrency tokens in order
to start playing.

For example, Axie Infinity, a very popular game, requires that
you buy three of their NFTs (called “Axis”) before you can
play the game.

Your final step will be to “load” your wallet with a particular
cryptocurrency so you can buy these starter items and pay
transaction fees.

Another popular game, CryptoBlades, requires that you download
MetaMask, buy Binance coin (BNB) and exchange it for the game’s
native cryptocurrency, called SKILL.

In our next email, we’ll look at some of the most popular
play-to-earn games so you can get started.

Until next time,
